Jesse Calderon
About Jesse
Jesse works in DOS to help coordinate efforts across campus to support students. He is a Stanford alum and understands that Stanford can be challenging in many different ways. He aims to help students navigate processes and connect them with resources that will help them be successful across all tenets of their lives.
As an undergraduate, Jesse majored in Human Biology and was involved with the East Palo Alto Stanford Academy (EPASA), Camp Kesem, and a part of the Mental Health and Wellness team in the ASSU. He also worked as a lifeguard on campus and volunteered with the Cardinal Free Clinics. Jesse is particularly interested in supporting students in higher education and building intentional spaces where folks feel supported and can be their authentic self. He strives to center trauma-informed and restorative practices at the heart of his work.
Jesse returned to the Program in Human Biology as a professional staff member after graduating from Stanford in 2020. He worked on the Student Services team advising students on major requirements, assisting with the facilitation of the Capstone and research program, and helping with administrative processes.
Outside of work, Jesse loves music, reading young adult novels, being involved with San Jose’s queer community, and food. He grew up in Gilroy, CA where he spent lots of time by the lake eating his dad’s delicious carne asada. At his core, Jesse loves connecting with people and sharing moments of joy.
